Meet Kellie
Hello, I'm Kellie, the founder of Solace Therapeutics.
I believe massage is about so much more than relieving muscle tension. At its heart, it's about helping people feel more comfortable in their bodies, supporting recovery, and providing care during some of life's most challenging moments.
Over the years, I've discovered that my greatest passion lies in supporting people who need more than just a massage. Whether someone is living with persistent pain, navigating pregnancy, recovering from surgery, undergoing cancer treatment, or receiving palliative care, I believe every person deserves to feel heard, respected and genuinely cared for.
That passion inspired me to create Solace Therapeutics—a practice built on compassion, clinical knowledge and personalised care. My goal is to provide a calm, welcoming environment where every treatment is thoughtfully tailored to your individual needs, helping you move more comfortably, recover with confidence and improve your overall wellbeing.

Everything You Need to Know
Whether it's your first massage or you're looking for specialised therapeutic care, you'll find everything you need to know before your appointment below.
-
Yes. I have completed specialised Oncology Massage Therapy training, allowing treatments to be safely adapted for people at different stages of cancer treatment and recovery. Every treatment is tailored to your current health and how you're feeling on the day.
-
Cupping therapy uses gentle suction to lift the skin and underlying tissues. It can help reduce muscle tension, improve mobility and complement therapeutic massage.
At Solace Therapeutics, cupping is only used when it is clinically appropriate and with your consent. It is not suitable for everyone and may not be recommended for some medical conditions or during certain cancer treatments.
-
Oncology massage is a specialised form of massage therapy that is adapted for people who have been diagnosed with cancer. Every treatment considers your medical history, current treatment, and individual needs to provide safe, gentle, supportive care.
-
Palliative massage is a gentle, compassionate treatment designed to enhance comfort and quality of life for people living with a life-limiting illness. Sessions are carefully adapted to reduce discomfort, ease anxiety, promote relaxation, and provide supportive touch in a safe and respectful way.
-
Yes, pregnancy massage can be a wonderful way to reduce discomfort and promote relaxation.
Treatments are adapted to each stage of pregnancy, with positioning and techniques chosen to keep both you and your baby comfortable and safe.
-
No referral is required.
If you're under the care of a specialist or healthcare team, I may ask for permission to communicate with them if it will help provide the safest and most appropriate care.
-
That's completely normal.
Many people feel anxious before their first appointment. I'll explain everything before we begin, answer any questions you have, and ensure you feel comfortable throughout your treatment. You're always in control, and your comfort is my priority.
-
I'm currently completing the Restore Oncology Scar Practitioner programme.
Specialised scar therapy for clients recovering from surgery, including breast cancer surgery, will be available soon.
-
If you're unsure which treatment is most appropriate, please get in touch before booking. I'm always happy to discuss your needs and help guide you towards the most suitable option.
-
Every person is different, and sometimes a quick conversation is the best place to start. If you're unsure which treatment is right for you, or you'd like to discuss your health before booking, I'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch and we can talk through the best option together.
Before You Book
-
Whether you're seeking relief from pain, recovering from surgery, navigating pregnancy, or simply taking time to care for yourself, I'll work with you to create a treatment that's tailored to your individual needs.
-
Your first appointment includes time to discuss your health history, goals, and any concerns before beginning treatment. This allows me to tailor your massage to your individual needs and ensure you receive safe, effective care.
Please arrive 5–10 minutes early if it's your first visit.
-
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in.
Most massage treatments are performed with you undressed to your comfort level and appropriately draped with towels at all times to maintain your privacy. If you're more comfortable remaining partially clothed, that's absolutely fine and your treatment can be adapted.
-
60 minutes – Ideal for focused treatment or regular maintenance.
75 minutes – Recommended for first appointments, pregnancy massage, or hot stone massage.
90 minutes – Perfect for addressing multiple areas or allowing extra time for deeper relaxation and recovery.
-
Solace Therapeutics is located in Whanganui.

-
If you're feeling unwell, have a fever, or have a contagious illness, please contact me before your appointment. We'll arrange another suitable time so you can recover fully and help keep everyone safe.
